The Island favourite: waterproof, scratch-proof, and gorgeous.
Luxury vinyl plank is the hardest-working floor we install, and the one Vancouver Island families ask for by name. It shrugs off wet boots, sandy paws, and spilled coffee. And it looks convincingly like real oak while doing it.
We install click-lock and glue-down LVP over properly prepped subfloor, with moisture barriers suited to coastal homes. Most main floors are finished in one to two days.

Questions
Luxury Vinyl Plank, answered
How much does luxury vinyl plank cost to install on Vancouver Island?
It depends on two things above all: the wear layer and plank thickness you choose, and how much levelling the subfloor needs before anything goes down. Those two variables move a vinyl plank quote more than the room size does, and neither can be judged from a photo. We measure in person and give you one written number covering material, prep and labour together, free, with no obligation.
Is luxury vinyl plank actually waterproof?
The plank itself is, yes, the core will not swell if water sits on it. What is not automatically waterproof is the seams and the perimeter. In a bathroom or laundry we seal the perimeter and use a waterproof underlay so water that gets past the surface cannot reach the subfloor. Ask for that specifically if the room has a floor drain or a washing machine.
Can luxury vinyl plank be installed over existing flooring?
Often, yes. LVP can go over existing vinyl, tile or well-bonded hardwood if the surface is flat, sound and dry. It cannot go over carpet, and it should not go over anything that is loose, cupped or hollow-sounding. We check with a straightedge and a moisture meter at the measure and tell you honestly which it is, laying new plank over a failing floor just moves the problem up a layer.
How long before we can walk on and move furniture back onto a new LVP floor?
Click-lock floating LVP can be walked on immediately and furniture can go back the same day. Glue-down LVP needs the adhesive to set, walk on it lightly after about 24 hours and wait a full 48 hours before heavy furniture or appliances. We tell you which type your job is before we start so you can plan the room.
